This is the end result of what happened, when I tried to teach myself how to fly an Ultralight with only 16 hours of experience in a Cessna 150. Tail dragger in addition. This was a great little plane and those who flew it loved it! I had to have two surgeries on my leg, have a bunch of metal in it now. And I still can’t run. Spent six days in a trauma hospital. I had a safety belt and helmet on. If I hadn’t had those on, I’d ate pavement. Worst pain of my life. I’m back to taking lessons, now have 23 hours total. I won’t be doing anything so stupid again. I had just bought that little plane a month before. Spent about five hours learning how to dance on the rudder pedals to control it, I had gotten quite good at controlling it on the ground. Then got over confident, tried to fly her and lost it.
