The airplane we use for training is a 1946 J3 Cub. Though originally it had a 65 hp continental engine, it now has a much larger 100 hp Continental O-200. Even with the engine change, it still does not have an electric starter. No problem though, as these airplanes can easily be hand propped. Rather than explain the safe way to perform such a procedure, here is an excellent Youtube video that explains the full process from start to finish in various airplanes, including a Cub.
